The Deck Houses. Ritz-Carlton Residences Grand Cayman

3DUS News • May 2, 2016
The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman commissioned 3DUS to create a new 3D animation for a spectacular waterfront Deck House in the heart of the Caribbean.
Designed by prestigious architectural firm OBM International and Interior Design Firm The Johnson Studio, the project posed some unique challenges for the animation team. In order to do justice to the future property and its location, everything would have to be animated in exquisite detail: the first-class design of the architecture, the tropical landscape, the breathtaking views and the texture and color of the fine linens and furnishings proposed inside the house. We even wanted to make sure we captured the soothing breeze of the ocean languidly swaying the curtains in the rooms. No subtlety would be overlooked.
For preparation, 3DUS took a short visit to the Caribbean to get a first-hand look at the location and general feel for the space. We walked the site and photographed the landscape. We observed and catalogued different species of tropical plants and we submerged ourselves in the unique vibe of the area, capturing as much as we could so that we could later accurately express and animate what is like to be on the paradisiac Island of Grand Cayman.
The residence’s floor plan is open and has plenty of natural light so we decided to show most of the spaces with open doors, thereby extending the interiors into the beautiful surrounding outdoor spaces. We animated sheers and fans, water features, plants and other details to show how it really feels to be inside of these luxurious Deck Houses. Color palettes, furniture selection and fabric types were all given as much consideration in the amination as the structure of the house itself.

The Deck Houses are going to be strategically positioned upon the tranquil waterways overlooking Greg Norman’s Blue Tip Golf Course. They are comprised of four stunning bedrooms in a three story boathouse with lift, infinity-edge pool as well as a charming detached guest house. The home will encompass over 7000 sq feet of overall living space including an expansive deck of exotic hardwood creating the perfect integration of both indoor and outdoor casually elegant living. The Deck Houses exclusive community was originally built in 2009 and this project represents an addition to the existing residences.

These stunning properties are located only a few minutes’ drive from the island International Airport and from the world-famous Seven Mile Beach. The Ritz Carlton Resort just a short 5 minute ride away where guests can expect to enjoy privileged access to all of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman’s amenities including Golf, dining and other high-end services. Additionally, Camano Bay is a short drive as are the islands 2 other golf courses.
